Clara is a leukaemia survivor

Clara Dileto was diagnosed with leukaemia when she was just five years old.

After two gruelling years of chemotherapy and injections, many ups and downs and a great deal of stress for the whole family, Clara was thankfully given the all-clear.

She is now a healthy and happy 16 year-old, embarking on her A-Levels.

A family effort to help other children

Together they organised Clara’s Charity Ball in May 2015 at Sopwell House near St Albans.

The evening was a terrific success featuring:

  • a three course meal
  • a ballroom and Latin dance performance
  • an auction of wonderful prizes

Auction prizes included tickets to an England football game at Wembley and a VIP tour of Pinewood Film Studios.

Clara also spoke bravely about her experience and their wish to help other children with cancer.

The Dileto’s raised the tremendous sum of £38,868.

Thank you

Children with Cancer UK is hugely grateful for this gift to help us in our fight against childhood cancer.

Our sincere thanks go to the whole family, as well as everyone who attended the evening and contributed so generously.
