Coral backs Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

28 August 2014

Rose and her older sister Tara
This September our corporate partner Coral are promoting Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This forms part of their Charity of the Year activities for us.

Throughout September, all 1,800 Coral shops will be displaying a Childhood Cancer Awareness Month poster and information leaflets about Children with Cancer UK for their customers. Coral TV will also be showing a video featuring Rose, pictured above, and Coral’s Chief Executive Andy Hornby.

Rose’s story

In 2006 at just five months old, Rose Kelly was diagnosed with infant acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). She was given a 50:50 chance of survival but today, she is a happy, healthy little girl.

Rose’s mum Alison explains “We are so hugely grateful to Children with Cancer UK for the incredible work they do for children such as Rose. It is thanks to them that there were new medicines and protocols in place to treat Rose.”

Coral chose Children with Cancer UK as their charity of the year 2014/15 and have pledged to raise over £500,000 for the charity throughout the partnership.
