Emily presents first golden running vest toA night to remember

Last weekend we attended Gillian’s ball in support of Children with Cancer UK to help with her incredible fundraising efforts.

After the success of her previous first two balls, Gillian promised that this year's third ball would be ‘bigger and better’. And she didn’t disappoint!

Unknown to Gillian, we had a surprise in store. To honour her achievement of raising over £50,000, running 50 miles and encouraging 50 people to get involved with Children with Cancer UK, we presented her with the charity’s first ever Golden Running Vest, to show our appreciation for her continued commitment and determination.

Emily Roff from the Running Team gave Gillian the Golden Running Vest to induct her into Children with Cancer UK’s new Golden Running Club.

“I was totally speechless at being presented with the first ever golden running vest. I don't do any of this for praise, I do it to save young lives but it's a lovely gesture of appreciation from the charity.  I was absolutely thrilled that Children with Cancer UK was able to be present at this year's ball."

GillianA huge fundraising success

The ball raised an amazing £4,805 on the night for Children with Cancer UK which has brought Gillian’s total fundraising efforts to an incredible £61,595 over the past five years.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank Gillian: we really appreciate your incredible support.

Thank you to all of the guests who attended and donated so generously!

“I am told that I am inspirational, but the real inspirations are the children that fight cancer with such bravery and the families who show such courage. I feel honoured to have met so many families through my support of this charity.

For this reason, I will not give up until a cure is found and I will continue to support Children with Cancer UK and their life-saving work.”
