About the ING New York City Marathon

The New York City Marathon is a celebratory journey through one of the world’s most vibrant cities.

Every year participants make their way from the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge to Tavern on the Green in Central Park. Our Mr Men and Little Miss Team are cheered to the finish line by more than two million spectators who line the streets of the Big Apple’s five boroughs.

Each member of the CHILDREN with CANCER Mr Men and Little Miss Team wears our distinctive Mr Tickle and Mr Happy running vest and thrives on the challenges of the ING New York City Marathon in “the city that never sleeps”.

How to get a place in the race

You are able to secure places through the International Ballot and through tour operators that work with the organisers of the marathon.

We work with Sports Tours International to secure places for our runners in the ING New York City Marathon. Sports Tours International offer packages that include Race Entry along with flights and/or hotels over the marathon weekend. All of their packages are available to see on their website. Once you have secured your own place then please do let us know so that we can support you all the way until Race Day!

Supporting you all the way

Every runner will receive a Runner's Pack containing lots of information about training and fundraising.

Our team is always easy to spot in our colourful Mr Happy and Mr Tickle running vests.

We’ve even got a cheering point along the course for friends and family to join us on the day.

Each runner, their families and friends can join us at our reception to enjoy some well-deserved refreshments. A great chance to unwind and reflect on the day with your Mr Men and Little Miss team mates.
