One Aldwych hotel’s Executive Chef, Dominic Teague, brings together four Michelin starred chefs in aid of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

To mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, four Michelin starred chefs led by One Aldwych's Executive Chef, Dominic Teague, put on a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience in aid of Children with Cancer UK.

The evening was the brainchild of Chef Dominic who called upon some of his most talented culinary colleagues to each create a course at the dinner.

One Aldwych's ongoing support

Since 2012 we’ve had an incredible journey with the charity – raising over £60,000, hosting exclusive events, donating prizes and even throwing our brilliant Executive Chef, Dominic, into the London Marathon.

All proceeds from the dinner, which cost £150 per head, came directly to us to help fight childhood cancer. Childhood Cancer Awareness Month takes place throughout September.

Children with Cancer UK is One Aldwych's specially selected charity partner and the hotel supports us with events and fundraising throughout the year.

One Aldwych has been supporting us since 2012 and has raised over £60,000 to date.

The exclusive hotel has given families of children with cancer its Indigo Restaurant’s signature Golden Afternoon Tea, supported our Bake Club and illuminated the whole hotel in gold to mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Dominic Teague, One Aldwych  Executive Chef, said:
“The evening was a chance for us chefs to give back a little. There is something particularly special when you know you are cooking for a great cause like Children with Cancer UK.

It’s not often that you find five top chefs in one kitchen – it’s as much a rarity for us as it is for the diners. We had a great night and I hope the guests did too.”

Kostas Sfaltos, One Aldwych General Manager, said:
“Children with Cancer UK does a fantastic job funding research into childhood cancer and supporting families during their most difficult times. We are immensely proud to be their partner.

Since 2012 we’ve had an incredible journey with the charity – raising over £60,000, hosting exclusive events, donating prizes and even throwing our brilliant Executive Chef, Dominic, into the London Marathon.”

Thank you, chefs, for your time

Commenting on the evening, Cliff O’Gorman, Children with Cancer UK’s CEO, said:
“We are honoured such a fine collection of chefs have put aside their time in order to support Children with Cancer UK. It’s not often you find four Michelin starred chefs under one roof, and we are truly grateful for the time and effort Dominic and his colleagues have put into the evening.

Cancer is the leading cause of death in children aged 1-14. In order to improve survival rates and quality of life for those given the all-clear, and to find and reduce the causes of childhood cancer, support from partners like One Aldwych is vital.”
