Marion's House

Marion’s House is a home from home for children and young people and their families to stay during cancer treatment at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.

New Home in Glasgow

We donated over £600,000 to enable Young Lives Vs Cancer to purchase a new Home in Glasgow – it’s for children and young people receiving treatment at the Royal Hospital for Children. Marion’s House, named in memory of our co-founder Marion O’Gorman, opened at the end of 2015 and officially welcomed families from February 2016. Many families who stay in the Home live between 100-200 miles away in remote rural locations across Scotland. It would simply be impossible for them to travel to and from Glasgow for treatment. The alternative is to stay in a hotel or rented accommodation for long stretches of time. This can be financially crippling, only adding to the emotional stress that a cancer diagnosis can bring. That is why Marion’s House is so vital – providing free, clean accommodation for children and families to stay during cancer treatment.
