Marion's House

Marions House

We have donated over £600,000 to enable CLIC Sargent to purchase a new Home from Home in Glasgow - it's for children and young people receiving treatment at the Royal Hospital for Children.

Marion’s House, named in memory of our co-founder Marion O’Gorman, opened at the end of 2015 and officially welcomed families from February 2016.

Many families who stay in the Home live between 100 – 200 miles away in remote rural locations across Scotland. It would simply be impossible for them to travel to and from Glasgow for treatment.

The alternative is to stay in a hotel or rented accommodation for long stretches of time. This can be financially crippling, only adding to the emotional stress that a cancer diagnosis can bring.

That is why Marion’s House is so vital - providing free, clean accommodation for children and families to stay during cancer treatment.

Marion’s Home provides:

  • 11 en-suite bedrooms
  • 2 of the bedrooms are for families with mobility needs, providing wet rooms and extra space
  • Lifts for access to the upper floors
  • Spacious double kitchen
  • Spacious laundry room
  • A lovely private garden
  • Private parking
