Workplace Giving

07 February 2012
Workplace Giving (also known as Payroll Giving and Give As You Earn)  is a great way to support our charity, and help our fight against childhood cancer.

It's an easy way to make regular donations to us straight from your pay….and the only way that your donation can automatically go up to 50 per cent further.

If you donate £5 a month from your salary, we could receive £10.

How it works

If you donate £5 a month through your salary, we could receive £10.
By giving to us regularly from your pay, we automatically receive the tax you would have paid on the donation (your payroll department sort this out for us).

We do not need to claim Gift Aid back on this, so less admin for us and no Direct Debit needed from you.

Workplace Giving is also the only way for anyone paying 40 per or 50 per cent tax to give us all their tax on a donation automatically.

So if you earn over £44,000 per year, this is the best way for you to support us tax effectively.

You donate to us
on a monthly basis
We receive

We receive

We receive
(50% tax payer*)
£5 £6.25 £8.33 £10
£10 £12.50 £16.67 £20
£15 £18.25 £24.99 £30
£20 £25 £33.32 £40

* Please note that we have calculated that 40 per cent higher rate tax band starts after earning £42,476 GROSS per year (including personal allowance of £7,475) and 50 per cent super tax is applicable to those earning over £150,000 GROSS per year (this includes any and all personal allowances that might or might not be applicable)

To give to us in this way, your Employer will need to operate a payroll giving scheme.

If you aren’t sure that they do, fill in the form anyway and we will let you know if they don’t and perhaps we can suggest to them that they introduce one.

How your donation can helpGiving to us through your pay can help to save more young lives.

£5 can help us unravel the biology of leukaemia

Your donation could help fund laboratory consumables for researchers to cultivate leukaemic cells in the lab - as part of their research into the biology of leukaemia

£10 can help us discover the causes of childhood cancers

Your donation could provide study documents for one family participating in an international study, looking at causes of a group of rare childhood cancers known as embryonal tumours.

£25 can help us make prevention a reality

Your donation could help fund one day’s worth of essential laboratory consumables for a key project working on the development of a vaccine against childhood leukaemia.
