A day out at Zippos Circus

04 October 2016

Thank you to everyone who sponsored a child to attend Zippos Circus 2016. Watch our video to see how much they enjoyed it.

Your donations allowed us to invite children with cancer and their families to a unique day with Zippos Circus.

Since 2011 we have held this very special event with our friends at Zippos Circus, giving children with cancer and their families a wonderful day out.

What's more, because everything needed for this amazing day out was donated, your contribution  immediately went towards helping children with cancer.

The children and their families were treated as our VIP guests, with a warm welcome from staff and volunteers in their own Mini Big Top.

They were then taken to the Big Top where they enjoyed a sensational circus extravaganza, featuring over 20 performers.

Ringmaster, Norman Barret MBE, hosted the colourful and action-packed two hours of high-energy acts from across the world.

The amazing line-up included the incredible motorcycle Globe of Terror, world-renowned clown Mr Lorenzo, Summer's beautiful Liberty horses, tumbling and human pyramids from the Kenya Boys, Gold-medal balancer Kremena from Bulgaria and Norman Barrett’s world famous budgies.

After the show, and back in the Mini Big Top, the children enjoyed a delicious post-show lunch party and met some of the wonderful circus performers.

We took lots of photos of the children enjoying themselves.

Caring for children with cancer

Over the years we have entertained many thousands of children, helping them to put aside their troubles and have some fun. This event with Zippos Circus will help us to achieve our aims - to determine the causes and improve treatments and provide care for children with cancer.
Thank you for your contribution.

Paul Newman and Zippos Circus

We have a long association with Zippos Circus. The founder, Martin Burton, has helped us to entertain children on many occasions, providing special days out for some very special children.

In July 2004 Zippos Circus put on a remarkable performance in Highbury Fields. Here, the late Paul Newman made a special appearance – fulfilling his secret wish to be a clown.
