What we do

We want to help more children with cancer across the UK.

That's why we invest millions of pounds every year in life-saving research, welfare and campaigning programmes to fight childhood leukaemia and other cancers.

Research
A researcher at work
We fund high quality research aimed at developing improved treatments that are not only more effective but are also less debilitating and disruptive to children's lives.

We also fund research into the causes of the disease, with the ultimate aim of being able to prevent the development of childhood leukaemia and other cancers.

We take forward the results of relevant research so that the knowledge gained can be used to best effect through our conferences and events.

Care

We support welfare initiatives to minimise the difficulties and disruptions caused by treatments.

A diagnosis of cancer brings several years of gruelling treatment, with high doses of toxic drugs and repeated painful procedures. Through all this, children face the awful uncertainty that they may not be cured.

We've supported major projects – including refurbishment of the haematology and oncology wards at Great Ormond Street Hospital – as well as smaller projects at a local level around the country.

We work with a wide range of other organisations to influence the development of policies that promote the best interests of children with cancer, or at risk of cancer.
