A spectacular day out at the Grand Pier

We were delighted to welcome children with cancer and their families to a VIP day out at the Grand Pier, Weston Super Mare on 4 April.

Almost 200 guests were treated to a delicious lunch (including a sweet buffet and Easter eggs!) in the Grand Pier’s Regency Suite and enjoyed free access to rides all day long, generously provided by the Grand Pier. Special guests Brian and Giovanna entertained the children with amazing close up magic and magnificent balloon models. All the children went away with a Grand Pier teddy bear to remember the special day.

Here’s what some of the families said about their day:

‘We would just like to say thank you to Children with Cancer UK and The Grand Pier for organising such a lovely day for our family. We had a really lovely time and so much fun – with lots of memories and photos to keep!’

‘We had a fabulous time, thank you so much! It was really relaxed and everyone was so friendly, days like these mean the world these days!’

A big thank you to Kerry Michael, owner of the Grand Pier, for his generous support of the day once again, and to the equally generous guests at our annual Children with Cancer Ball who donated towards our welfare projects.
