Golf Fundraising

If you have been chosen as this year’s golf club captain then we would love for you to select Children with Cancer UK as your chosen charity of the year!

We will be here to support you throughout the year of your captaincy and can supply you with fundraising materials such as balloons, banners, posters and collection boxes.

Why Support Us

Over the past 29 years we have invested millions of pounds into childhood cancer research and welfare programmes. Fifty years ago, only 3 out of 10 children diagnosed with cancer survived. Today, three quarters of children and young people diagnosed with cancer are now cured, thanks to research we have helped fund. Despite this progress, cancer is still the most common medical cause of death in children and young people – claiming more than 500 young lives each year.

We currently fund over 50 life-saving research projects across the UK. This includes a £1.5m Precision Medicine project. We believe the significance of precision medicine for childhood cancer represents a step change in the way we care for children.

Golf Fundraising Ideas

  1. Captain’s Day

Hold a captain’s day which could include breakfast, lunch or dinner. Not forgetting to include fundraising opportunities such as captain’s bunker, nearest the pin and longest drive.

  2. Putting Contest

Get prizes from local businesses and hold a putting contest with a entry fee of £5/£10. Set your distance from the hole, with anyone who holes a putt awarded a prize.

  3. Tees in the Bowl

Ask guests as they arrive to the club to guess the number of tees in a bowl. Charge a small entry fee and draw the result at the end of the day with the winner receiving a prize.
