Become a Mini Superhero

Your superpower is fighting against the injustice of childhood cancer – keep your children active and busy by joining our Mini Superhero Challenge

Tragically, in the wake of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, 12 children and young people will continue to be diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. So we’re calling all your little heroes to get involved to help save young lives.

The challenge is completely flexible, so whether you take on Chores for Change, Mile a Day March, or something completely different based on the number 12, there’s a challenge for everyone to get involved in. We’ve also got some fabulous printable materials to help your little ones personalise their challenge.

You’ll receive all you need to get started via email when you sign up. Don’t forget, for every child raising £12, they’ll receive an extra special Children with Cancer UK Mini Superhero fabric badge as a thank you for their amazing efforts.

Mini Superhero Challenge Ideas

The Mini Superhero Challenge is completely flexible, and you’re free to create your own, ultimate, challenge. But if you are looking for some ideas we have some tried and tested ideas here:

  • Mini Superhero Mile a Day March: Whether you walk, jog or run it – challenge yourselves to take on a mile a day for 12 days, get out in the fresh air with your family whilst keeping a safe distance and adhering to government guidelines.
  • Chores for Change: Choose 12 chores to help around the house or in the garden. Commit to doing these for 12 days in a row and get sponsored to do it. Too easy?  Why not make it 12 weeks? #ChoresforChange
  • Readathon: Commit to the challenge of reading a new book each week for 12 weeks, if you think this isn’t challenging enough, make it a book a day for 12 days.
  • Random acts of kindness: Carry out 12 random acts of kindness, or commit to doing random acts of kindness for 12 days, and see the joy you can bring to other people’s lives.

Whatever activity you decide to challenge your little ones to, don’t forget to share your pictures on social media, tagging us into your posts and using the hashtags: #MiniSuperheroChallenge #ChildrenwithCancerUK #ChoresforChange
