This year’s Virgin London Marathon saw 1,400 Children with Cancer UK Superhero runners pound the streets of London and battle through wind and rain on their way to the finish line.
Our Superhero runners were cheered on all the way by large crowds and fantastic volunteers at each of the Children with Cancer UK cheering stations.

Our runners took to social media to share their feats with the world. Friends and family read their marathon stories with pride and liked their amazing photos. Here’s a small sample of tweets from the marathon weekend:

All runners have to collect their number from the London Marathon Expo in the days leading up to the event. The Expo is often when the nerves kick in and the reality of running 26.2 miles hits home.
It's an opportunity for our runners to meet staff from the charity and ask any questions they may have. It was really great to meet so many of our fundraisers and hear more about their heroic training and fundraising.
Armed with numbers and poncho’s to keep warm before the race, our Superheroes left fully prepared!
