How your gift in memory can helpGeorge Hawkins with his older sister Mary"My younger brother George was diagnosed with leukaemia at four years old.

I was only seven at the time and was very confused. George was very ill so needed treatment in Bristol and Mum, Dad and my baby sister Lizzie stayed with him. My Grandma and other family looked after me and my two other brothers, or we stayed in free accommodation, like Paul’s House.

George had three years of chemotherapy and was in remission for about eighteen months.  But the cancer returned, and he needed more chemotherapy - this time, he also needed a bone marrow transplant.

It's now been over a year since his transplant and he is doing really well. George still goes for regular check-ups, but all in all he is well and with us. But who knows what the future will hold.”

Mary Hawkins, George's sister

With your help, we can help keep more families like Mary's together.
