Be a Charity Champion      We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to represent us at a local or regional level.

Volunteer giving a speechAs a Charity Champion, you will

  • give talks to raise awareness of our life-saving work
  • attend cheque presentations
  • help to recruit new fundraisers

A talk can be as simple as a few words of thanks at a cheque presentation or a speech lasting anything from five to 25 minutes!

We will provide you with speeches that you can adapt to suit your style, along with aids such as PowerPoint presentations.

In addition, we would also like your help to recruit new fundraisers. As a Charity Champion, you’ll need to be pro-active in finding and motivating fundraisers.

Is this role for me? 

If you are a sociable person who is confident speaking in public, then this is the role for you. You will be self motivated and be able to use your own initiative to find new fundraisers and opportunities to talk about the charity in your area.

Community Shop Box Co-ordinator We are looking for people to place collection boxes in their local area. 

Female volunteer with Community Shop BoxAs a Community Shop Box Co-ordinator, you will be a friendly face in your community and place our shop collection boxes in your local shops, cafés, restaurants, libraries and leisure centres.

You will keep in contact with each site so that you know when the boxes are full, and collect the monies. You will also be responsible for paying the collection into our charity account.

Is this role for me?

If you are a sociable person who can build and maintain a good relationship with local businesses, then this could be the role for you.

Could you display our Collection boxes? 

If your business would like to support us, display one of our community shop boxes!

Community Shop BoxIt’s an easy way to encourage staff and customers to make vital contributions to CHILDREN with CANCER.

Simply place the box on your counters or in reception and help us to raise life-saving funds.

Your local Community Shop Box Co-ordinator will then collect the money on our behalf.  If there is no Co-ordinator in your area, we would ask you to please count up and send in the money from your shop box.

Community fundraising groupCould you inspire your friends to organise a fundraising event?

Group of ladies at a charity fundraising ballThere are lots of different fundraising events you might want to organise, from a small coffee morning, to family fun days or even a ball! 

You can divide up the tasks between you and your friends, family members or colleagues – many hands make light work!

Once you have held your first event together, you could make it an annual event, just like Caroline and her friends.

Is this role right for me?

If you are sociable and enjoy working with your friends, this is a role you will really enjoy.

Be a Community FundraiserHelp us to raise essential funds in your local area.

Two volunteers taking part in a community collectionOrganising your own fundraising activity - whether a bake sale, a quiz, a fun day or a golf day – is a great way to raise vital funds for CHILDREN with CANCER. 

We’ll provide you with lots of helpful resources, including fundraising tips, collection buckets and balloons.

Join us as a volunteer Community Fundraiser and help us to save more young lives.

Whether walking from Leeds to Plymouth, cycling the Alps, or doing a bungee jump, lots of fundraisers have organised their own exciting challenges and raised thousands of pounds for our charity.
