The Amazing Great Children's Party.

For 23 years, we hosted the Amazing Great Children’s Party in aid of disadvantaged children and children with cancer and other seriously illnesses. The first party was held at Battersea Park in 1988 and the final party in 2010, with around 6,000 guests attending each year.

Entertainment

With the help and support of many sponsors and over 300 volunteers each year, we were able to provide this magical event for so many deserving children. Children and their families joined us for a fun, stress-free day out, where they could forget about hospitals, treatment or perhaps difficult circumstances at home. The day was full of laughter and fun with marvellous magicians, fantastic face painters, fabulous food, rollicking rides and a star-studded stage show. Children could have a go on fairground rides, take a ride on the miniature train or watch circus performances from clowns, jugglers and stilt walkers. Every child also received a picnic pack, ice cream, burger or hotdog from the BBQ. In the first few years of the party, we also had hot air balloon rides and we were joined by the Capital Radio road show. We had some fantastic celebrity support for the Amazing Great Children’s Party over the years, from stars such as Dennis Waterman, Phil Collins, Frank Bruno, Judy Dench, Gary Lineker, Michael Caine, Cilla Black and Joanna Lumley. Each year, a celebrity headed up our appeal to sponsor £10 for a child to attend the Amazing Great Children’s Party. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this event so special each year and helped to put smiles onto so many faces. We couldn’t have done it without the fantastic support of volunteers, sponsors, celebrity ambassadors and everyone who kindly donated towards the event.
