Meet our ambassadors

Our ambassadors are an important network of supporters for Children with Cancer UK  who use their platforms to promote our cause.

Paula Radcliffe

Paula held the Women’s World Marathon Record from 2003 and 2019, with a time of 2:15:25 and won the London Marathon in 2002, 2003 and 2005. In November 2004 she won the New York Marathon in breath-taking style and in 2005 she took the gold medal at the World Championships in Helsinki for the same distance. She was awarded an MBE in June 2002 and later that year was voted the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year. In 2020, at the age of 13, her daughter Isla was diagnosed with a rare germ cell tumour.

After the experience my family went through with my daughter, Isla, being diagnosed with cancer, I knew I had to do something to help. Hearing stories about children who weren’t as lucky as Isla, is just heart breaking. Children with Cancer UK is an amazing charity that works to save the lives of children and young people diagnosed with cancer through investing in research and support for families. I’m dedicated to doing all I can to support all children going through a cancer diagnosis through raising funds and awareness to keep the fight against this terrible disease moving forwards. My daughter Isla is also taking up the role of Junior Ambassador for Children with Cancer UK. Isla wants to help bring change to children and young people with cancer.

Christian Vit

Christian Vit is an Italian British actor based in London. Born in Venice he discovered his passion for acting since a very young age, he was in his first show at the age of five. He started his acting career in Milan where he also accomplished his studies.

Christian has a Master’s degree in Public Relations majoring in Consumerism and Publicity at IULM University, Milan.

I feel honoured being an ambassador of Children with Cancer UK and it fills my heart with joy to support and to give my little contribute to the remarkable work and mission that they have been carrying on for years.

James “Jimmy” Carpenter

Jimmy is an award-winning content creator & DJ. He has produced the Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 and presented the breakfast show on BBC Leicester. He’s made podcasts with Sony and the Supervet Prof. Noel Fitzpatrick, and in his DJ capacity supported the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Elton John and Rod Stewart. Last year, he ran the London Marathon for the very first time for Children with Cancer UK.

I’m deeply moved whenever I hear about children going through a traumatic time so young in life. I’ve known kids who’ve fought & won their battle with cancer, and others who’ve sadly lost. I’m honoured to be ambassador for this amazing charity to support the incredibly brave children and their families who are faced with such painful & challenging circumstances. I believe no child should ever have to go through it.
