Projects We Fund
Pioneering science and innovation in cancer research is in our DNA
We’ve seen first hand how even a small breakthrough can make a significant difference in the survival chances of children and young people. That’s why we pour our fundraising into research, working closely with scientists and medical experts to improve diagnosis and find better, kinder treatments. Over the last 35 years, we’ve funded over 300 cancer research projects for children and young people.

Cancer is the leading cause of death in children aged 1–14 years in the UK. Survivors often face a lifetime of serious health issues due to the intensive treatments used to combat the disease. Unlike adult cancers, childhood cancers are biologically different and require dedicated research to improve outcomes.
Children with Cancer UK is a proud member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) and fully supports the AMRC’s position on the use of animals in research. You can read our full Animal Research Position Statement to learn more.
