‘Kids Like Us’ - Children with Cancer UK’s powerful documentary is going global

Children with Cancer UK is proud to announce its powerful documentary, Kids Like Us, will be available to watch in multiple international regions across The Nordics, Benelux, Middle East and Africa, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Portugal and France.

The documentary on childhood cancer has been sold into 106 new territories in a deal with Warner/Discovery+ allowing it to be seen by a truly global audience.

In the UK the film is available to stream on Sky and Now TV, and rights are still available in the US and Australia/New Zealand (ANZ).

Kids Like Us is a landmark documentary feature which will fundamentally change the way we view paediatric cancer and the issues that surround it. The documentary follows the extraordinary journeys of eight remarkable young people from the UK and the US, offering a deeply honest and eye-opening portrayal of the reality of their lives. The 90-minute Children with Cancer UK film is produced by Echo Velvet, the team behind ITV’s critically acclaimed It’s Showtime.

David Gibbs, Chair of Trustees at Children with Cancer UK says:

Our hope for this powerful film is that it sparks a conversation about the reality of childhood cancer for those it affects. Every day in the UK, 10 children and young people receive a cancer diagnosis and have to face tough treatments often lasting years. Sadly, cancer is still the biggest cause of death for children under the age of 15, and yet less than 2% of UK cancer research funding is targeted at children’s cancer. Children with Cancer UK is doing all it can to change this by creating more awareness, more funding and ultimately ensuring more children and young people survive cancer.

Tania Alexander, Executive Producer of Kids Like Us says:

We feel incredibly privileged to have been able to spend time filming with these remarkable young people. During the making of the film, their energy, honesty and humour was overwhelmingly infectious, and the film really captures that mix of emotions. Paediatric cancer is a subject that is too often shied away from, and these kids, telling their own stories in such a candid and compelling way, deliver a very important message in a way that is relatable. We are delighted that their inspiring stories will now reach a global audience.

The funniest, loveliest film about cancer you’ll ever see… it’s an inspiring watch… This feature-length film is uplifting, frequently funny and really rather beautiful
