Sound Bites, the new food and music festival, will make its debut in London over 8th & 9th May with a two day event at The Clementine, Syon Park in support of the Children with Cancer UK. At least £10 from every ticket sold will be donated directly to the charity. Children with Cancer UK are the leading childhood cancer charity in the UK, supporting families and childhood cancer research. Their vision is a world where every child and young person survives their cancer diagnosis.
Sound Bites is designed to bring people together in new ways to eat and party, combining unique food and drink experiences with live bands, DJs and emerging artists, and will feature a curated programme of food led experiences. This is the latest food and drink concept from the team that has been inventing world beating food festivals for the last 25 years, including Taste Festivals, Big Festival and Gourmet Escape.
The Classics Feasts will pair comfort food with crowd pleasing music, with pop up restaurants and top chefs, including Atul Kochhar, serving pub style British favourites alongside classic Indian dishes, accompanied by chart favourites, tribute acts and party bands.
Fire led cooking will take centre stage at The Firepit Stage with Big Nath’s BBQ, a live fire dining experience focused on ember roasted dishes, bold flavours and smoky surprises served straight from the coals. The festival will also host official partner, BrewDog and Ginger Wings’ Big Wing Weekend, pairing BrewDog’s signature beers with multi-award winning wings from Ginger Wings, created by Jack Blumenthal.
The Speakeasy presented by Sofar Sounds offers an intimate performance space showcasing emerging artists and surprise guest appearances. Tucked away from the main stages, The Speakeasy is a low lit, laid back space giving festival goers the chance to sink into velvet sofas, sip wine, graze on charcuterie sharing boards, and enjoy Sound Bites at its most relaxed.
Sound Bites London will also feature a strong music line up, with headline performances including an all star Friday night DJ lineup with Faithless DJ Set with Sister Bliss, alongside Denise van Outen, Laura Whitmore and Leigh Francis’s Record Club. Plus, The Hoosiers take to the stage on Saturday afternoon and on Saturday night Ricky Wilson presents The Fabulous Adjustable Band with special guests Gary Stringer (Reef), Natasha Hamilton (Atomic Kitten) and Simon Fowler (Ocean Colour Scene). Further performers will be announced in due course.
Additional festival spaces include The Heroes Stage, created in partnership with Children with Cancer UK, a unique space where children who have been affected by childhood cancer will interview celebrity guests from the world of sport, TV, literature and beyond. Stage line-up details will be revealed soon.
The Food Court will also showcase some of the UK’s top street food traders serving global flavours and is made for dipping in and out. Guests can grab something delicious, graze on the move, then dive straight back into the party.
Bars across the festival site will serve cocktails, craft beers, wines and low and no alcohol options, with shared tables and relaxed seating areas designed to encourage socialising throughout the event.
Chris Hughes, Sound Bites Co-Founder, said:
Syon Park is an incredible venue to kick off our new era of food and music parties, and to be supporting a fantastic charity like Children with Cancer UK is extra special. Sound Bites builds on everything we’ve achieved creating some of the UK’s biggest food and music events but will offer new ways to party and new ways to explore great tastes with friends and family.
Gavin Maggs, Chief Executive of Children with Cancer UK, said:
Being the first charitable partner of the Sound Bites festival shows our commitment to finding new ways to connect with supporters and unite more people behind our mission to help children with cancer. The funds raised through the festival will support families and young people facing the challenges of childhood cancer and fuel the research that drives more effective, safer treatments. We can’t wait to see festival goers come together at Syon Park to make a real difference for children and young people across the UK.
Sound Bites London at The Clementine, Syon Park marks the first chapter for this exciting new festival, with further UK locations line-ups to be announced soon.
