In 2012 One Aldwych, London’s definitive contemporary luxury hotel, chose Children with Cancer UK to benefit from a 'Pound on the bill' initiative.

One Aldwych adds £1 to customer bills* in the Lobby Bar, when customers order food from the bar menu or afternoon tea, and also in Axis at One Aldwych and Indigo restaurants.

Since then our partnership has gone from strength to strength. The Head Chef of Axis, Dominic Teague, ran the London Marathon for us raising over £5,000.

Sir Matthew Pinterest and children showing his gold medalsIn September 2014, One Aldwych lit the outside of their building gold to celebrate Childhood Cancer Awareness month and kindly hosted an afternoon tea for some children with cancer and their families. It was a lovely surprise for them all when Matthew Pinsent, four time Olympic gold medallist arrived with his Olympic medals!

Deborah Morris, manager of Axis at One Aldwych hotel, said “Our restaurant is proud to support the 'Pound on the bill' initiative and hopes our customers will be too. Based nearby on Great Ormond Street, Children with Cancer UK works tirelessly to save young lives across the nation.”
On hearing the news our Chief Executive said "We are delighted to partner with One Aldwych. This initiative will raise vital funds and awareness and all donations will help to save young lives".

*Customers could opt out if they did not wish to donate.
