Fundraiser of the Month: Neasden Temple
We couldn’t be doing what we’re doing, investing in research and supporting families, without our amazing fundraisers, large and small.
Fundraiser of the Month for July 2025 is awarded to Neasden Temple, who wanted to raise money for Children with Cancer UK by taking part in the BAPS 10K Charity Challenge, engaging people of all ages to walk or run 10 kilometres for worthy causes.

What’s the fundraising challenge you set yourself and why?
The BAPS 10K Charity Challenge has been running for more than thirty years, engaging individuals of all ages to walk or run 10 kilometres in support of worthy causes. Alongside humanitarian and disaster relief efforts, this initiative supports a range of UK charities each year – including, this time, Children with Cancer UK.
How much money have you raised so far?
We had participants from our 21 centres across the UK and we are still receiving the funds pledged for this event. We’ve been grateful for the ongoing support of the many charitable organisations that benefit from this collective effort.

Why did you decide to fundraise for Children with Cancer UK?
We were deeply moved by the work of Children with Cancer UK to improve survival rates and quality of life for children with cancer. Their work touches so many lives, and it resonated with our ethos of selfless service and putting the needs of others first. Supporting this charity was a meaningful way to show compassion through action.
How’s your challenge going? If it’s completed – how did you find it?
The challenge was completed successfully and with great enthusiasm across the country. At Neasden Temple, we saw a wonderful turnout of families, children, and community members walking together. The energy, unity, and sense of purpose created a vibrant and joyful atmosphere.
What would you say to anyone else who is considering taking on a fundraising challenge?
Take the step—you won’t regret it! A fundraising challenge is not just about raising money; it’s about bringing people together, making a positive difference, and building community spirit. The sense of fulfilment and joy from giving back is something truly special. It’s a reminder that small efforts, done collectively, can create real change.
How you can help
By taking on this challenge Neasden Temple has supported Children with Cancer UK’s work, enabling us to invest in more life-saving childhood cancer research. We’d like to say a huge thank you for your support – it is only thanks to supporters like you that we can continue our work.
If you would like to raise money in aid of Children with Cancer UK, we’ll help you every step of the way.
