Fundraiser of the Month: Oli & Ann

Our Fundraiser of the Month for December 2025 goes to Oli & Ann, who ran the first-ever ultramarathon in the Galápagos in our support.

Oli & Ann took on a one-of-its-kind challenge to support Children with Cancer UK. They ran the first-ever ultramarathon held in the Galápagos Islands, an archipelago of volcanic islands in the Eastern Pacific. Organised by Rat Race Events, the pair raced 70km in one day, navigating themselves along the way.

Training for this ultramarathon was anything but easy: Oli & Ann had to balance full-time jobs and ‘far too many’ dependants, whilst ‘battling through the miles’. But doing it with ‘such a great friend in Ann’ made it an incredible experience.

If it was your child or someone you love’s kid, wouldn’t you want to do anything you could to help?

Oli & Ann wanted to fundraise for us to support those with children going through treatments, like their friend’s daughter.

Incredibly, they smashed their fundraising target of £1,500, raising £2,615! The pair are still counting the donations, with roughly £500 expected to roll in after their colleagues host a fundraising bake off competition in support of their challenge.

We couldn’t be doing what we’re doing, investing in research and supporting families, without our amazing fundraisers.
