Fundraiser of the Month: Shaving Ted’s head to raise money for childhood cancer research

Shaving Ted’s Head

Having spent a lot of time in hospital himself, Ted wanted to show support for the other children he met who were more ill. Ted explains why he decided to set his challenge:
Initially, I wanted to donate my hair but I didn’t want to wait to grow it and I thought more people would donate if I were to shave it off instead. I have spent loads of time in hospital and it isn’t nice. I started thinking about my time there and I wanted to do something nice to help.
When asked how he found the challenge, Ted said:
I enjoyed doing it and I am proud of myself, my family are too. Some people at school have laughed at my hair but I choose to ignore them because I’ve done it for a good cause.
For anyone thinking of doing their own fundraiser, Ted advises:
To be brave and definitely do it.
By taking on this head shave, and setting up his fundraising page, Ted has exceeded his original target and raised an amazing £870 for Children with Cancer UK’s work, which will help us invest in more life-saving childhood cancer research. We’d like to say a huge thank you for your support – it is only thanks to supporters like you that we can continue our work. If you would like to raise money in aid of Children with Cancer UK, we’ll help you every step of the way.  Start fundraising today
