Fundraiser of the Month: Steve and Chris

Our Fundraiser of the Month for June 2026 goes to the incredible Steve (right) and Chris (left), who are taking on two 10Ks to support children facing cancer.

Last year, Steve Hamilton was diagnosed with stage 3 inoperable metastatic melanoma. He has been in treatment for 12 months so far, and, after seeing other children with cancer go through treatments like his own, Steve wanted to help them however he could.

And so it began! Steve, Chris Coote, and a few other friends are now running two 10K events to raise funds for children facing cancer. They even completed a fundraiser where Steve and Chris had a Lamborghini for people to sit in for a donation and ended up raising over £900 in one day.

They have currently raised an incredible £6,100 (+ £1000 gift aid) to fund childhood cancer research. That’s over £7000 that will go towards funding developing better treatments and supporting children with cancer.

Why did you decide to fundraise for Children with Cancer?

The care and kindness he has received has been incredible, and Steve, together with his friend Chris Coote and others, wanted to give something back.

Seeing children go through cancer during Steve’s own treatments broke his heart. They deserve laughter and hope, not hospital rooms.
