Fundraiser of the Month: Rock Against Leukaemia

Rock Against Leukaemia 7

Rock Against Leukaemia is an all day music festival with bands, acoustic artists, stalls and food.

Andy started these annual events in 2017 as a way of giving something back after the brilliant treatment his daughter received when she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in 2016. Over the past seven years, Andy has raised an incredible total of £9,000.

Andy said:

I raise money for Children with Cancer UK because I feel that research is key to finding kinder and more effective treatments for children with cancer. My own daughter, Daisy, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia so I know first hand how important funding for research is.

When asked how the event went, Andy said:

The event was a great success. The acts all performed brilliantly and all that attended were super generous. It’s a tough event to organise and run, but I wouldn’t change it for anything and will continue for as long as I can.

To anyone thinking of hosting a fundraiser, Andy advises:

Go for it! Find something you love, or something that you think may challenge you, and get involved! Raising money for research into childhood cancer is so important.
