Who you’re helping
Alfie’s mum noticed something was wrong in 2019 when her sociable nine year old begun to withdraw from his friends. He had also complained of headaches and vomited, so she took him to see his doctor.
Doctors were so concerned they sent him to the hospital straight away, where he was quickly diagnosed with cancer.
He was put into treatment just as the COVID-19 pandemic began, separating him from his family more than expected, but after several gruelling months he rang the end of treatment bell in October 2020.
Alfie had to learn to do everything again due to the harsh treatment he was given. Even now he still suffers with effects like extreme fatigue. That is why playing our Grand Draw is so important, to make sure children have kinder treatments with less after effects.
By playing our Spring Grand Draw, you’re funding vital research that could lead to treatments that help more children and young people like Alfie survive cancer.
