Vega is done
Vega is done. She had her last chemotherapy. We left the Royal Marsden hospital without any
bells or whistles and no dancing down the hallway either. In fact, it didn’t feel like an ending at all. When Vega’s port needle was removed, the nurse asked us if we had our next appointment date as they always do. We didn’t say goodbye to anyone, didn’t high five anyone, or even thank anyone… I guess when it comes to the Marsden it isn’t an ending at all. We will be with them for years to come, for long-term follow-ups, for echoes and port removal. Rather than an ending, they only see us transitioning from one part of the treatment to the next.
