Kids Like Us: Reunited

The Emmy-nominated Kids Like Us returns with a new digital series, reuniting some of the young people who featured in the original documentary, and introducing new faces.

As told by the young people themselves, Kids Like Us: Reunited brings to life the key issues that surround childhood cancer – from late diagnosis to the harsh realities of treatment and its long-term effects.

Late diagnosis (Dulcie and Eve)

Late diagnosis is a major crisis in childhood cancer as early detection can increase treatment options.

Dulcie, aged 10, explains to Eve, aged 17, just how long it took her to finally get the correct diagnosis, which in her case was neuroblastoma.

Missing Childhood

Arianna, Charlie, Audrina, and Kaiden chat about how their cancer experience impacted their childhood.

Cancer forces children to swap the playground for a hospital ward. From missed parties to limited education, the impacts of a cancer diagnosis can last for years after treatment ends.

Harsh Treatment

Alec, Aden, Kaiden, Audrina, Leighton and Harry share stories with each other about how treatments like chemotherapy can be extremely harsh on their young bodies. They also discuss how babies and children currently receive the same treatment as adults.

Hope

Charlie and Audrina share a message to other children currently going through cancer treatment.
